In three weeks I will be 35. Somehow I didn't expect to be where I am. For god's sakes who on earth wants to live this life. I know I should appreciate the fact that I have a job in this economy, but this is not how its suppose to be. Anyone who works in a corporation knows what I mean. The place sucks your soul.
I work for a large company, I won't give details, mainly because it isn't necessary. I mean they all seem the same. Office Space the movie pretty much sums up life in a cubical. Day in and day out of useless spreadsheets and bureaucracy. The worst part about it is about 90% of the people actually think they are doing something useful. They tricked themselves into believing they are needed and couldn't be replaced by some third world worker who would work 90 hours a week for a half a chicken and a bowl of rice. This Blog is for the other 10%.
I wasn't always so cynical. When I first got my MBA I assumed that working hard would get me to a rich, rewarding career in investments. BAM.....that's reality hitting me in the face.
Well I am going to do something about it. That's why I am writing. Well one of the reasons. First and foremost I hope you find some amusement in the day to day grind that I have to deal with. Secondly, and most importantly, maybe just writing this will keep me focused on getting the hell out. So enjoy my boredom until I escape.
